radiesse

radiesseCollagen is what gives volume, flexibility and strength to healthy, young skin. As a part of the aging process, your own natural collagen breaks down, diminishing facial volume and elasticity. This loss of elasticity and volume results in wrinkles, facial lines and skin laxity – all of which rob your skin of its youthful, fresh appearance.

Replenish Volume. Restore Collagen. Refresh You.

Ideal wrinkle reduction is achieved by replenishing your skin’s lost volume. Upon injection, RADIESSE® Volumizing Filler immediately provides the volume and lift needed to diminish the signs of aging because of the calcium-based microspheres and gel that comprise the product. But what’s unique about RADIESSE Volumizing Filler is that it acts as a scaffold under the skin, providing structure and stimulating your own natural collagen to grow.(1) This process continues for several months, which extends the initial effect of RADIESSE Volumizing Filler. Best of all, the natural results are clinically proven to last a year or more in many patients, which is why more and more cosmetic surgeons, dermatologists, and other medical professionals are choosing RADIESSE Volumizing Filler to achieve long-lasting facial rejuvenation. (1)

Why choose RADIESSE Volumizing Filler?

  • It is the only filler that immediately replenishes lost volume and stimulates the production of your own natural collagen for long-lasting results
  • It is clinically proven to last a year or more in many patients
  • RADIESSE patients are significantly more satisfied than patients treated with other leading wrinkle fillers (3,4)

Questions & Answers

What are calcium hydroxylapatite injections?

Calcium hydroxylapatite is the heaviest of facial dermal fillers. An example of calcium hydroxylapatite injections is Radiesse.

Calcium hydroxylapatite is found naturally in human bones and is a mineral-like compound. It’s often used to fill:

  • Moderate-to-severe creases such as nasolabial folds, marionette lines and frown lines
  • Enhance fullness of the cheeks and other facial contours.

Calcium hydroxylapatite is biosynthetically produced, which means that no animals or animal products are used. This lowers your risk of an allergic reaction and no skin testing is required.

This type of dermal filler is known to produce a very natural result, doesn’t migrate, and side effects are rare.

Calcium hydroxylapatite has another special use for HIV-positive people who suffer from facial lipoatrophy, also known as facial wasting, which is a side effect of antiretroviral medications.

Be safe: Choose a professional

Although tissue augmentation is a quick, in-office procedure that can produce a marked improvement in restoring facial fullness and a more youthful appearance, effective and safe use requires a physician with specialized training and a thorough understanding of facial anatomy to recommend and inject an appropriate filler.

Choosing a plastic surgeon to treat your face with calcium hydroxylapatite injections means that your treatment will be performed by someone who not only has training in injection therapy, but in all types of non-surgical and surgical facial rejuvenation.

How do calcium hydroxylapatite injections work?

Calcium-based microspheres are suspended in a water-based gel to form calcium hydroxylapatite.

This dermal filler was first used in dentistry and reconstructive surgery and has a long safety record.

Like some of the other semi-permanent dermal fillers, calcium hydroxylapatite contains small particles that act as a scaffold. Your own collagen then grows on that scaffold. Over time, the particles are slowly dissolved into calcium and phosphate ions through normal metabolic processes.

Important RADIESSE Volumizing Filler Treatment Considerations
RADIESSE Volumizing Filler is FDA-approved for subdermal implantation for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. After injection, patients may experience redness, bruising, swelling or other local side effects. Most side effects of treatment resolve within a few days. More rare side effects may include swelling that lasts longer, unevenness or firmness in the area injected, and as with any injection, there may be a risk of infection.
