A YOUNG DOCTOR, new to Ocala, smiles and gives some very truthful and important advice: “The short of it is,” he says, “if mama’s happy, everybody is happy.”
He’s talking, of course, about his wife, Salesia, who is, indeed, very happy about moving to Ocala for her husband’s new job.
Dr. Leonik Ahumada is the newest addition to the now four-doctor staff at The Aesthetic Center for Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is also very pleased about their decision to move to Ocala and join the Aesthetic Center team at their state-of-the-art facility.
“It is a great opportunity, both for my family and for our careers. My wife and I are both physicians, and that is always a hard thing to juggle,” says Dr. Ahumada, who started working at Aesthetic Center in August. “We looked at several places throughout the United States, but Ocala felt like home.”
With the addition of Dr. Ahumada, the Aesthetic Center for Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery continues its mission to deliver the ultimate state-of-the-art personal care. In fact, before adding Dr. Ahumada, the Center recruited Dr. Navinderdeep Nijher. The two doctors, trained at prestigious plastic surgery training programs, join Ocalans Dr. R. Asokan who opened the Aesthetic Center in 1980, and Dr. James Rogers who has been practicing at the Center for 15 years.
The Aesthetic Center has been serving patients in Ocala for over 25 years, providing the kind of personal care that you can only get from a smaller, private practice. Dr. Ahumada says that this longevity is one of the main reasons he chose to come to Ocala.
“The core of this group has been here for a long, long time,” Dr. Ahumada explains. “That is very important from my perspective, because you know that things are stable. You know that they are consistently doing good work.”
Dr. Ahumada came to Ocala from Birmingham, Alabama, where he served his internship and residency in general surgery and residency/fellowship in plastic surgery for eight years at the University of Alabama. Prior to that, he received his Medical Degree at the University of Miami’s School of Medicine and his Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at Harvard University.
“His credentials are impeccable”, said Dr. Asokan. “With our first two doctors, patients had been waiting two or three months for appointments. Now by adding Dr. Nijher and Dr. Ahumada, the Aesthetic Center can accomodate all patients in a more timely manner.”
The Aesthetic Center for Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery is a distinctive facility, delivering great service, convenience and peace of mind to all its patients. With these three aspects, what more can anyone want?
The service at the Aesthetic Center is particularly personalized because of the highly-trained staff and the layout of the facility. Waiting rooms look more like domestic sitting rooms than the impersonal ones you often find at clinics. The staff, including everyone from doctors to receptionists, is highly trained, friendly and eager to please.
“The doctors are available all the time,” Dr. Ahumada explains. “It is a big convenience, looking at it from the standpoint of a patient.”
As for peace of mind, patients can rest assured knowing that the Aesthetic Center is a fully-approved surgery center, certified by the State of Florida. “It gives our patients the utmost security,” Dr. Ahumada says, pointing out that the trifecta of great service, convenience and peace of mind is a sure winner with patient satisfaction.
Dr Ahumada, like all of the doctors at the Aesthetic Center, is trained in general reconstructive and cosmetic surgical procedures. Typically, these procedures include breast enlargement, reduction and lifts, facelifts, tummy tucks, eyelid and nose surgery, cheek and chin implants, and even post-bariatric body contouring, including the circumferential body lift, which is used to get rid of excess skin after a gastric bypass procedure. They also perform skin rejuvenation through laser resurfacing and chemical peels, in addition to a full line of skin care products, including SkinCeuticals, Theraderm Skin Renewal and The Obagi system.
In addition, Dr. Ahumada says that he has a particular interest that he wants to build upon: “One thing I am particularly interested in developing is hair transplantation for both men and women,” he says. “In women, accidents often related to chemical hair treatments or scars from a previous surgery often need to be camouflaged with hair transplants. Using a new technique called micrgraft hair transplantation allows the surgeon to give a more natural appearance.”
With the addition of Dr. Leonik Ahumada, The Aesthetic Center for Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery will continue in the 25-year tradition of providing the highest quality medical care. All of their doctors have extensive experience in performing aesthetic procedures and are happy to answer your questions.
